21st Birthday Album

its getting to that busy time of the year where all the Christmas parties are happening well for me we are busy with birthdays as well

The second half of the year seems to have a birthday a week but this one is a special one a friends daughter (her youngest of 5) is turning 21 I can’t believe it to be honest she was a baby when I met the family and to watch this gorgeous girl grow into a beautiful young lady is so awesome

I’ve had the privilege to make most of the sign in books for their special birthdays

Here’s the birthday girls album and the process and of course all the fantastic glues from Helmar that I used in the process
Make sure to take a look at the rest of the blog for some great inspiration from the rest of the Design Team

First off I started by removing the spiral book connector thingy (can’t think of its correct name)

It had a ribbon holding it together but I wanted to turn it on its side and use a different ribbon

i used the Fabric Glue to adhere the ribbon to the back of the book

I then printed on the paper a picture that relates to the birthday girl no one else will get the picture but she knows what it is

I used the Acid Free Glue to adhere the cardstock to the front of the book

I spread it out with a spatula so it was smooth and made sure I got every edge and corner

After I used some clear paste through a stencil to add some texture
I painted the letters with some gold paint then rubbed it over with some wax
Once the paste dried I rubbed the stenciled area lightly over with some wax to show up the pattern
I used the Tacky Craft Glue to stick the cardboard letters and the little flowers down

Then I added some metal and acrylic embellishments, knowing how great the Tiger Grip is I know my bits won’t come off

I coloured some of the flowers with some of the gold paint and wax to match the rest of the book

Then added some Liquid Pearls to the centre of the flowers for an added touch to finish it all off

Fingers crossed the birthday girl loves it

November Post

This project for Gecko Galz Scrapbooking Challenge Blog

They also have a Facebook Challenge page so don't forget to check that out as well this has different challenges to enter

Make sure you enter the challenges you have a chance to win a great prize from the Etsy store

My first project is just a little bit Christmas
Just getting warmed up

I added texture with some Bling Colour Paste from Colour Blast its perfect to pick up the colour in the image

I added a little Christmas tree which I embellished with pearls and a snowflake bling to bring in the Christmas element

Of course, I added my favourite embellishment - paperclay, some ovals that always come up great with any treatment you give them and the Criss cross strip that makes a great border

This one is a bit more Christmas with a few resin embellishments and some jingle bells
I used a wire hoop and some cream ribbon to wrap around it as the background which gave me something to use to put the image and embellishments on

The resin embellishments I made with a bauble mould then used a wax over the top it doesn't quite cover the resin fully but i like the look of the finish so you can still see that it's got a clear look to them

A paperclay frame and key done in the same colour wax to pick up the orange in the image and a small metal tree embellishment

I added some string to the baubles and tied them to the hoop

The little circle embellishment I filled with some bling and topped it with a metal bow

The flowers were a different colour so i used the wax to change them to match the rest of the embellishments

This image is from the same collection - Christmas Dreamland
I chose this one because of the Owl of course
I used some rust ribbon across the bottom of the image with a resin wreath

I followed the image greenery with leaves and some flowers and of course some metal owls

A little resin frame with a butterfly
I used a stencil with some texture paste and some rust paint

More flowers and another butterfly which I picked up from the image
I also used some coloured resin dots scattered around the canvas

Thank you for visiting and I hope youll come back soon xx
