Door to somewhere special

This months project is for Helmar

My creation is a canvas with a door to somewhere special I’m hoping it will bring out your imagination and you can picture yourself going through it to somewhere magical

I used both of these glues

Tiger Grip Adhesive  and Craft & Hobby PVA 

I used the Craft & Hobby PVA for most of the project

Here I’m laying down a base of the glue for the rice collage paper door

I also put a thin layer over the top of the image 

I find it helps make the rice paper blend better with the background

I used a paperclay door and tiny house from some moulds that I have I painted them similar to the door in the image

I used some sheer material behind the door for some contrast

Then I added some cardboard to raise it up for dimension 

Then I found some metal in my stash and used the Tiger Grip Adhesive for these

I know this adhesive will hold these onto the cavas it’s one of the strongest glues 

I put a bit of glue on the backs of the flowers

Then placed them around the canvas where I thought they would look perfect

I also added some extra embellishments to add some more focal points

Nautical Dreams Clock

This week I’ve created a clock using the Nautical Dreams range from Scrapbook Fantasies

 

I used the Nautical Dreams papers 

Paper No. 1

Paper No. 2 x 2

Nautical Stuff Colour Cuts

Bouquets Colour Cuts

Mini Pictures Fussy Cuts

A5 Colour Word Sheet

I used a MDF clock I’ve had in my stash for awhile

I made the little frames using some paperclay 

Then painted them with some brown paint and some brass coloured wax

I love these mini pictures from the fussy cut sheet they make cute little “wall pictures” 

I also cut out the bottle from the sheet 

I used  the hessian side of Paper No. 2 for the background of the clock

The stumps are from the Nautical Stuff Colour Cuts

The Nautical Dreams word is from the A5 Colour Word Sheet

I thought the Ships Wheel from Paper No. 1 was perfect for the clock and I just used my Dymo label maker for the numbers 

The bow was from the Nautical Stuff Colour Cuts and the doors are from Paper No. 1

I used the Life Buoy from the reverse side of Paper No. 2

All the gorgeous flowers are from the Bouquets Colour Cuts

The stand I painted with a few different blues that are in the blues of the papers

The other little embellishments are from my metal collection which just added an extra touch to the gorgeous papers that don’t really need much added to them to make fantastic projects

Moon Child

This month's Theme is Stay Wild Moon Child

I used an image from the Moon Magic Image Kit which you'll find on the Etsy store 

I also used some words from Sentiments pack

I used a tree stencil with some graphite texture paste - in the right lighting it shows up beautiful with specks of silver in the graphite

Then I used some Liquid Drops 3D Pearls in Pharoh to add a twinkle in the background of the canvas

I had a metal moon which I painted gold and then I also added 3D dots to the background of the image for a bit more of an effect

It's a simple project but the image is so lovely I didn't want to do too much to distract from it
