Flower Nymph for Helmar

Hey Everyone

This time on the Helmar Blog I created a cage filled with flowers and a Nymph hiding in amongst all the of them

Make sure to visit the Helmar Website to find out your closest stockist
And remember to check the Helmar Blog for more inspiration from the other Design team members

I've had this Prima Bird Cage for ever a friend and I were going to do them together but then she opened a gift shop and hasn't crafted since so I thought it's about time I used it

Mum and I went shopping in a big cheap craft store and they sold lots of flowers and materials wool etc so we bought lots of flowers and some of this mesh
Mum got some bit and pieces
I used the Fabric Glue adhere the glitter mesh to the back of the cage

I stuck a few layers of cardboard using the Premium Craft Glue (it's my go to at the moment) together so there was height and the Nymph would stand out amongst the flowers

I painted the paper clay Nymph with Finnabair Acrylic Paint Sparks and stuck it to the back of the cage and material with the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive

I used a lot of different sized gems which I scattered around the whole cage as well as used them in the Nymphs eyes so I used the Gemstone Glue to adhere them over the flowers and on the bottom of the cage

With the Nymph it has detail that stands out so I used Finnabair Art Alchemy Opal Magic Vintage Silk Wax
It's such a pretty colour and not too bright just enough to make the details pop

I used Finnabair Art Alchemy Opal Magic Vintage Silk Wax on the Heart as well and added a large flower to go with it

Today for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone

This was a fun little project for the Memory Maze Blog with colour but also my favourite rust and owls

Make sure you visit our Facebook page so you don't miss out on anything new

I started of with the Door Wire Stencil and some crackle paste on a mini canvas I set it aside to dry on it's own as it has ha better crackle when you do this

Once the background was dry I used some Colour Blast Colour Artist Ink in Citrus, Slipper and Spice
Dripping the colours down the canvas and adding a little water to spread the colour over the whole canvas

Then with the 2 piece vintage oval frame I painted it with some brown acrylic paint then some Rusty Paper Paint dabbing it randomly then I added some Frank Garcia Memory Hardware Artisan Powder in Trianon Patina in random spots

I cut 2 of the outer Hearts a pair so they sat in each other then used the Artist Inks again to paint them

I painted the flowers behind the owl with the citrus as it needed some more brightness behind the owl
The owl I used Frank Garcia Memory Hardware Artisan Powder in Umber, Clay and Black and mixed in a bit of Colour Blast Colour Spray Mocha and the leaves I used the Grass Artist Ink

From the Globes set I took the little vintage timer out and painted it with Artisan Powders and then a bit of the Mocha Colour Spray and a bit of Cobalt Shimmer Dust mixed with a fair bit of water

I added a few white flowers because you can never have enough flowers LOL

Dream Big for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

This week for the Colour Blast Blog
Don't forget to check out the rest of the blog for some Design Team inspiration and ideas
I decided to use a photo of my son posing when he was trying on his suit for his sisters wedding and just as I was taking the photo he turned his head to pose LOL

I started off with some crackle paste with a diamond stencil
Once it was dry I wanted to used a few different blues one the canvas

I dripped the Colour Artist Ink Calypso in a few spots then sprayed a little water to help it spread a bit further

I then added a bit of Colour Artist Ink Soot to darken it up a bit but then it was too dark so I watered it down a lot and it made it go a darker blue

Then I added some Colour Shimmer Dust Duke and sprayed the water and everything around it - made me remember to cover and move a few bits that I didn't want blue lol

You can see I added water to the Colour Shimmer Dust Cobalt so it would spread over the canvas

Putting the Colour Shimmer Dust Navy on then I sprayed it a little and turned the canvas in a few directions

Here are two different close ups of the colours you can see the colours

I added some metal embellishments and a few inspirational words to finish it off and that's it

Enjoy the Journey for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone my turn on the Memory Maze blog today
Make sure you check out the Memory Maze Store and check out what's new this week and see the blog for what the team have been up too
We also have an Instagram account so make sure if your in Insta you go add us memorymazelaser

and I'm slowly working my way through my daughter's wedding photos
There's no hurry as they don't want an album so I'm doing what I want with the photos that I love the most

The girls did their own hair and make up which turned out beautiful

This is what the Heart with Wire Insert looks like except with all the hexagons in it

I sat and glued all the hexagons onto a piece of cardstock with the outer edge but not the full frame

Once everything was glued down and dry I added Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso over the whole thing - I did a couple of coats to make sure I got into all the grooves

Then as you can see above I used the Colour Blast Colour Spray LOVE painting into the grooves as steadily as possible but as you can see that didn't quite happen I went over the edges a bit but it added to it I think

Then I used some Journaling Cards from the Prima range Midnight Garden (it's so pretty) and a couple of flowers from the Ephemera pack

On the Words Fancy - Smile and the Enjoy the Moment I rubbed some Finnabair Metallique Wax in the Brushed Iron to add a contrast colour

Then on the Prima Junk Yard Findings Globe I painted the back with some Finnabair Mettalique Acrylic Paint in Red Wine which suited the flowers in her hair and is a very similar colour to the Bridesmaids skirts
Then I randomly placed different sized white flowers around the project

Thank you for visiting I hope you come back soon x
