Album for Helmar

Hey Everyone

This project for Helmar Blog is a photo album cover which I decorated with lots of metal and some paper clay pieces
Make sure you check out the rest of the Blog for some fantastic inspiration from the Design Team

This is a Tim Holtz Album Cover that has preprinted fabric on it

With all the metal and paper clay I painted it with Finnabair's Art Alchemy Metallique Rustic Brown

Once it was all dry I brushed everything over with a light coat of Finnabair's Art Alchemy Metallique Wax in Vintage Gold
But I found it to be a bit too gold so I used Finnabair's Art Alchemy Opal Magic Vintage Silk over the top to lighten it a little
I used the Premium Craft Glue to adhere all of the embellishments to the cover which is so good for all different types of products to stick things down with
Metal on metal, metal to fabric, paper to fabric and lots more
This Key hole is from Graphic 45 I love how detailed it is
The image is a piece from one of Tim Holt's Ephemera packs which I cut into an oval shape, then covered the edge with some twine
I added a Bee Flair from Embellish With Flair Vintage Bees into a bottle top along with a piece of tulle fabric and a little clock
I had some Finnabair Mechanicals which is what the ART piece is which is what I added to the centre of the angels centre piece
Then I added some other bits of metal I had in my stash
Now all I need to do is add photos or maybe add some art journal pages

Happiness for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone

This week on the Memory Maze Blog I created a canvas using this quote for a friend to remember to be happy for herself and not let people get to her and cause her the pain and stress

I used Memory Maze Door Wire Stencil with some Little Birdie Embossing Paste which I got from Random Arts
It's so fun to use, it goes on like a thin paste then when you heat it,
it puffs - the more heat the more puff it's so much fun and worked excellent with Door Wire Stencil

I then painted it with Finnabair's Metallique Soft Satin Paint
I went over the whole canvas with Finnabair's Opal Magic Vintage Silk Wax for an added dimension and to lighten the colour a little

I then painted the Lace Scalloped Nested Circles clear gesso then with Finnabair's Metallique White Pearl Paint for a nice shimmer

I then used some Cocoa Vanilla pieces from the Die Cut Ephemera pack and some Mermaid Balls scattered around

Gift Box for Embellish with Flair

Hey Everyone

This project for Embellish With Flair I had this box that I thought I would make into a nice gift box for a bracelet or watch, I have a few birthdays coming up so I'm sure it will come in handy

I then used Colour Blast Boho Mandala Stencil with 3D Matte Gel
I painted the box with black gesso first to make sure any other layers would adhere to the box and then painted it with a different colour gold which I didn't like

So then I painted it with one of Finnabair's Opal Magic Art Alchemy Paints - Yellow Pink which as you can see parts show up pink and yellow on the box

But on the paper clay embellishments that were painted with the black gesso only, they came out mainly pink
I love how these paints work

This set of Flairs are one of my favourites they are just so pretty and can be used on almost anything and I thought it was perfect for a gift of any sort really - I could keep it for Mothers Day even

I glued the paper clay bow to the twine so it can be taken off without having to ruin the box
And as always there has to be a flower x

Maid of Honour for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenges

Hey Everyone

I love these heart canvases and this photo is so beautiful of my daughter and her Maid of Honour
The photographer captured a glow in their faces it's just gorgeous
So I started off by using the Rosy Stencil over the whole background

Then I painted the canvas with the Art Alchemy Red Wine
I used the Art Alchemy Metallique Wax in Old Silver with my finger rubbing it lightly over the top which looked great

But then I decided to use the Prima Midnight Garden products and they have a copper colour foil on a lot of the pieces so I went over the canvas with the Rich Copper wax but I'd put too much so I brushed it again with a bit of the Red Wine and ended up with this colour

I added the bow then arranged the chipboard stickers and some of the Journal Cards after I stamped randomly with the Paint Chips Clear Stamp

Before I added the photo I added some muslin over the cardboard that I used to raise the photo up

I added the flowers they matched perfectly with the ones that the girls had in their hair and bouquets

Bunny for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenges

Hey Everyone

My project for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenges Blog is for Easter
This project was fun and the bunny is so cute
I got him from Bed, Bath and Table

I changed him a little he came with elastic on his head so you can hang him but I cut it off and added an extra piece to make it look like hair
He also came with a balloon in his hands which I changed for tulips which are easter flowers and my favourite as it so happens

I made a ring of flowers with some paper clay and mum's mould and then made some eggs with the clay

I used a mini hexagon canvas and painted it with Art Alchemy Paint in Metallique Rustic Brown and the ring flowers in Sparks Unicorn's Hair then used foil to cover the eggs except the one in the centre, I tried to use wouldn't work so I painted that with Sparks Dragon's Eye

Easter Wreath for Helmar

Hey Everyone

I made an Easter wreath of sorts for the Helmar Blog this month

I painted this timber heart with some Art Alchemy Metallique paints - Wild Fuchsia, Fresh Orange, Lime Peel and Pure Sunshine, they are such fresh happy colours

I used Memory Maze's Scribble Frame over the muslin

I used 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere all the chipboard and plastic pieces onto the heart

I used the Foam Glue to stick the bunny down after I cut him in half so he would sit right onto the heart, he's made of polystyrene so the foam glue is perfect

I found these plastic eggs with a chicken in a nest but I didn't want to use the chicken easters about bunnies

Make sure to check out the Helmar Website for all the different glues available and what each one is used for
