Creativity For Random Arts

Hey Everyone

Here's a post for the Random Arts Blog which I haven't posted to for a while as I've had a few health issue which one included breaking my hip while taking my hubby to get his replaced - ironic I know LOL we were the talk of the hospital

Any way I saw this quote
I thought I'd lost my creativity I thought it had just gone and I could craft anymore with everything that has gone on with my depression and the hip and a few other things I just couldn't get into it
Then reading this quote made me realise how true it is
I knew I just had to start
So this is the first piece back it's simple but it was fun to do

I thought it only fitting to use a paint palette seeing as that was what the quote was on
So I painted it with white gesso using a sponge to give it texture
Then using the Lindys Magical Shakers I randomly used the three colours around the palette drying each colour as I went
I love the way they blend into each other and can make extra colours
Here you can see I added the Little Birdie - Embossing Texture Paste - Aquatini and Frosty Fizz randomly with a palette knife
I love this paste the way the more you heat it the more it puffs
This patch of Frosty Fizz I added some Alpine Ice Rose Magical's to it for some more colour then added the Silver Rhombus Spear Charm on top
I added the Finnabair Old Silver Wax to the resin scissors, paintbrush and texta to make them pop
I love the Patina Bee he's one of my favourite bits of metal in my collection
He adds that pop on the flower that was needed
I love flowers I think they soften things and add extra colour where it's needed

Happiness for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone

This week on the Memory Maze Blog I created a canvas using this quote for a friend to remember to be happy for herself and not let people get to her and cause her the pain and stress

I used Memory Maze Door Wire Stencil with some Little Birdie Embossing Paste which I got from Random Arts
It's so fun to use, it goes on like a thin paste then when you heat it,
it puffs - the more heat the more puff it's so much fun and worked excellent with Door Wire Stencil

I then painted it with Finnabair's Metallique Soft Satin Paint
I went over the whole canvas with Finnabair's Opal Magic Vintage Silk Wax for an added dimension and to lighten the colour a little

I then painted the Lace Scalloped Nested Circles clear gesso then with Finnabair's Metallique White Pearl Paint for a nice shimmer

I then used some Cocoa Vanilla pieces from the Die Cut Ephemera pack and some Mermaid Balls scattered around

You are... for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenges

Hey Everyone

Here is my project for this month on the Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog
Make sure you join in the fun and also check out the other projects by the rest of the design team

I used a quote that I thought suited a lady that doesn't see these things in herself so I thought it only appropriate that I make this for her to remind her that she is all these things

I used Boho Mandala A4 Stencil from Colour Blast which I purchased at Random Arts (a new Aussie online store with very good prices)
I used Finnabair's Acyrilic Paints - Line Peel and Deep Waters and added water so they mixed a bit in the middle

I then embellished with a few bits and pieces I in my stash and added a flair from Embellish With Flairs (they have such a great range make sure to check them out)
A few more embellishments and a touch of gold wax by Finnabair
Then a few sprinkles of some Art Ingredient Glass Glitter placed around for some sparkle and we are done

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will be back soon x

Today for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone

This was a fun little project for the Memory Maze Blog with colour but also my favourite rust and owls

Make sure you visit our Facebook page so you don't miss out on anything new

I started of with the Door Wire Stencil and some crackle paste on a mini canvas I set it aside to dry on it's own as it has ha better crackle when you do this

Once the background was dry I used some Colour Blast Colour Artist Ink in Citrus, Slipper and Spice
Dripping the colours down the canvas and adding a little water to spread the colour over the whole canvas

Then with the 2 piece vintage oval frame I painted it with some brown acrylic paint then some Rusty Paper Paint dabbing it randomly then I added some Frank Garcia Memory Hardware Artisan Powder in Trianon Patina in random spots

I cut 2 of the outer Hearts a pair so they sat in each other then used the Artist Inks again to paint them

I painted the flowers behind the owl with the citrus as it needed some more brightness behind the owl
The owl I used Frank Garcia Memory Hardware Artisan Powder in Umber, Clay and Black and mixed in a bit of Colour Blast Colour Spray Mocha and the leaves I used the Grass Artist Ink

From the Globes set I took the little vintage timer out and painted it with Artisan Powders and then a bit of the Mocha Colour Spray and a bit of Cobalt Shimmer Dust mixed with a fair bit of water

I added a few white flowers because you can never have enough flowers LOL

Imagine for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

My turn on the Colour Blast Blog - make sure you check out the rest of the blog for lots of inspiration and check out the Colour Blast Kit Club - Check what kit would suit you
It's so convenient everything you need all in one box

I found this picture of John Lennon with the words to the song Imagine
It's such a powerful song which we all need to read and do

I primed the canvas with the Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso

I used four different Colour Pastes - Apple of my Eye, Fire Engine, Sunshine and Tangerine Dream

I used the four different Colour Pastes through the Memory Maze Pavement Stencil scraping each colour letting them overlap here and there
I liked the look of it as it was similar to the photo of John Lennon

Here I'm rubbing some Dorland's Wax Medium over the paste - 1 it helps the paste from sticking to other thing and two it helps make the effect below (I'm sure there are lots more things I can use it for but we'll get to those)

Once I've heated where the wax is it bubbles all over and gives the pattern a really cool look

I sprayed a paper clay border with Colour Spray Carribean for a different pop of colour

I used Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk sticker quote that I thought appropriate

Here I used a Kaisercraft flower, a metal clock face from my stash and a Memory Maze Acrylic Deer Head

I used a Tim Holtz Transparency Globe an old Making Memories ribbon slide and a paper clay man from mum

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x

Grateful Heart for Colour Blast

Happy New Year Everyone

I hope you're having a fun but safe New Years Eve

On today's BLOG for Colour Blast I created a canvas with lots of paper clay pieces stuck on

I started off by painting the canvas with Heavy White Gesso

Then used some Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere all the paper clay pieces on (like a jigsaw)
I then filled in some gaps with Art Stones and finished it off with another coat of Heavy White Gesso

Then I decided to make it colourful and I used the Colour Shimmer Dusts in - Paris, Peacock, Amber, Sunflower, Duke and Candy
Flicking a little bit of dust before spraying water with each colour (trying not to make mud by getting the colours too mixed up)

Then I felt it needed some more shimmer so I mixed the Dorlands Wax with the Colour Embossing Powder -  Bling and used a  spatula knife to spread it around the canvas and into the little gaps
I covered the heart all over as that's what stands out the most and I based my quote on

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a very happy 2019 xx
