Flower Children for May Challenge

Another project for the Facebook Challenge page

I couldn’t help myself it’s a flower challenge and I do love flowers

And these little girls are just so cute they are part of the Sweet Garden Child set it’s so adorable with all the adorable little girls on there

I started off with a stencil over the background of the circle canvas
Then painted it in a peachy pink colour

I then added this wide lace to the middle

After adding the images I processed to embellish the canvas with flowers and other bits from my stash including this big bling
I also used a quote from the Garden Girls Card Toppers set

I tied a white ribbon around the middle

And add the tea pot paperclay piece

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon xx

Scrapbook Fantasies

I found this timber money box at the local hardware store so I had to alter it
A fun project I created with some of the Magic CutsDreamland Flair Button and Mermaid Wishes Rice Paper and other bits I had in my stash

I painted the box gold then added the Mermaid Wishes Rice Paper to the back panel

I glued all the Magic Cuts I wanted to use in layers

Adding cardboard to bring some of them up higher at the back

In between I added some little embellishments like flowers and art stones

I wanted to cover the hole where the money is supposed to go so I added this gorgeous owl colour Cut and some flowers

And of course I had to add a flair (if you look most of my projects have one on them) this one is part of a set from the Dreamland Flair Button set

Thank you for visiting and I hope you’ll be back soon xx

With this project I used the ethereal fairies set and the words are from the whimsical sentiments

The background paper is from the
I used a stencil with impasto over it so you could still see the background paper

On the ribbon spool I filled it with flowers and added art stones to add some extra texture

I used paperclay books painted in a colour I chose from the background papers flowers and then rubbed them with some wax and painted them with some shimmer paint

With the title I did a wash over it to take away the stark white background behind the words

I added a few embellishments in a cluster for some added detail

Thank you for visiting I hope you come back soon xxx

Gecko Galz FB Challenges

 Gecko Galz Scrapbooking

This is for the Facebook Challenge page which has four different categories every month go check it out

Make sure you enter the challenges you have a chance to win a great prize from the Etsy store

I created this canvas for the Floral Fantasy challenge
I had so much fun
The large Owl is from the “Owl Be Seeing You” set and the smaller one is from “Wild Woods”
The background was painted with black gesso first then i used acrylic paint in similar colours to what’s in the images

The centres of the flowers have small cabochons that I painted yellow before glueing them down

I wrapped the pink pleated ribbon around the edge of he canvas adding some extra contrast to the black
I used some metal leaves and other embellishments for added detail

I used bright acrylics to make sure the popped from the canvas also adding water to them so they would move across the cavas easier

I love the different flowers i used - paper clay and metal
I tried to pick up the colour from the flowers in the images

Thanks for visiting I hope you come back soon xx

Scrapbook Fantasies Cyber Crop

Scrapbook Fantasies had a cyber crop this week in their Facebook group

I only managed to get one project finished, I started  on another one but didn’t like it so have pulled it apart and am redoing it

I used the Dreamland patterned paper #1 and cut it into the floorboards
I then cut the white door from the Cottage Garden pattered paper #4 as a focal point (I love the old doors so much character)
I backed the door with some Rice Collage Paper from the Mermaid Wishes Collection and the Magical Memories Flower pattern vellum was used behind the girl and under the door as well

One of the cybercrop challenges was a Tic Tac Toe I chose Sequins, Gold and Stencil

Here you can see the little pink sequins I dotted around randomly
This was a great challenge as I’ve had these in my stash for ever, it made me use something I’d forgotten about (now they’ll be on everything hahaha)

To incorporate some gold I added a gold paper clay frame
I also used a small brush and went along all the edges of everything to add a gold rim to make it all pop
The gold paint is Jane Davenport’s Gessoh!
It’s so lovely and vibrant

I love bees and the Bee stencil is perfect with all the different sized bees on it
Impasto is great to use with stencils, it adds texture without making it too obvious or taking it away from your patterned papers
I added a few flowers around for contrast and that’s it

Thank you for visiting I hope you come back soon xx
