Trinket Box for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

My project for the Colour Blast Blog is a little Trinket Tin, good to keep earrings or jewellery in when you take it off at the end of the night

All the products I used you can find here as well as a list of suppliers on the Colour Blast Website

I used 1 layer of the Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso with a sponge - I like the texture it gives
Sometimes I like use a brush for a different texture depending on what I'm doing over the top of it

I love this Colour Paste Bling it's so bright and shiny and looks great through this stencil
Colour Artist Inks Lollipop (I had an oops the other day and didn't close the lid properly so luckily I always have muslin on hand to mop any spills LOL) It was perfect for the pop of colour this project needed
Colour Shimmer Dust Peacock I added a bit of the powder to my board then added as much water as I wanted the colour to be - darker or lighter
I thought would go well with the Colour Lollipop Artist Ink and the Colour Paste Bling for the face
Dorland's Wax Medium I used over the top of the face to add something extra it gives it a sheen different to the shine that the shimmer dust does

Colour Artist Inks Peacock I used to paint the tin - the plain white gesso looked a bit boring but unfortunately we lost the shimmer of the Colour Paste Bling

Graffiti Grunge Collection Linked in Die I cut it out in acetate so it's a bit hard to see (I did have to put it through the die a few times)

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x

Handbag for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

This time in for the Colour Blast Blog I tried to think out side the box - well outside the bag
My mother in law was throwing her old handbag out and I just couldn't let it go just like that

Also don't forget to visit the Colour Blast website and see what's new over there

I used the Spread Your Wings Collection that Michelle Grant created
I chose the Peony Dreams paper to cover the bag and used the 3D Matte Gel to adhere it to the bag I also gave it a coat on top as well

then the Elegant Tags which I cut 3 of the tags out

With the Word Play sheet I cut out 2 squares one with the butterfly and the other with the birds

I then used the Peony Dreams Stamp Set with a versa mark stamp then over the top I used Colour Mica Powder in Peach Nectar

With the Dorland's Wax Medium I mixed some Colour Mica Powder in Cool Mint into a paste then painted it onto the paper clay shapes I made

I used the  Colour Mica Powder in Peach Nectar with some 3D Matte Gel to paint the handle of the bag

I also painted the little clasp with the Peach Nectar

And of course added some flowers

Thank you for coming and I hope you come back soon x

Imagine for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

My turn on the Colour Blast Blog - make sure you check out the rest of the blog for lots of inspiration and check out the Colour Blast Kit Club - Check what kit would suit you
It's so convenient everything you need all in one box

I found this picture of John Lennon with the words to the song Imagine
It's such a powerful song which we all need to read and do

I primed the canvas with the Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso

I used four different Colour Pastes - Apple of my Eye, Fire Engine, Sunshine and Tangerine Dream

I used the four different Colour Pastes through the Memory Maze Pavement Stencil scraping each colour letting them overlap here and there
I liked the look of it as it was similar to the photo of John Lennon

Here I'm rubbing some Dorland's Wax Medium over the paste - 1 it helps the paste from sticking to other thing and two it helps make the effect below (I'm sure there are lots more things I can use it for but we'll get to those)

Once I've heated where the wax is it bubbles all over and gives the pattern a really cool look

I sprayed a paper clay border with Colour Spray Carribean for a different pop of colour

I used Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk sticker quote that I thought appropriate

Here I used a Kaisercraft flower, a metal clock face from my stash and a Memory Maze Acrylic Deer Head

I used a Tim Holtz Transparency Globe an old Making Memories ribbon slide and a paper clay man from mum

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x

Grateful Heart for Colour Blast

Happy New Year Everyone

I hope you're having a fun but safe New Years Eve

On today's BLOG for Colour Blast I created a canvas with lots of paper clay pieces stuck on

I started off by painting the canvas with Heavy White Gesso

Then used some Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere all the paper clay pieces on (like a jigsaw)
I then filled in some gaps with Art Stones and finished it off with another coat of Heavy White Gesso

Then I decided to make it colourful and I used the Colour Shimmer Dusts in - Paris, Peacock, Amber, Sunflower, Duke and Candy
Flicking a little bit of dust before spraying water with each colour (trying not to make mud by getting the colours too mixed up)

Then I felt it needed some more shimmer so I mixed the Dorlands Wax with the Colour Embossing Powder -  Bling and used a  spatula knife to spread it around the canvas and into the little gaps
I covered the heart all over as that's what stands out the most and I based my quote on

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a very happy 2019 xx
