Eyes of an Owl for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

My turn on the Colour Blast Blog
Make sure you check out the rest of the blog to see what the Design Team have been up too
And check out the links on the side of the blog for the links to all our Social Media Links

I have an obsession with Owls there's something magical about them
This ones eyes have such depth

I used Colour Artist Ink Rust with a touch of water

I used paper from the Limited Edition Collection - Imperfect oh my this range is awesome so steampunk but light enough that you can add more depth and texture too it
I used the Peony Dreams Stamp from the Spread your Wings Collection randomly over the paper
After stamping I dripped some of the rust down the page

Adding some water sprays along the way to help it spread

And using the Heat gun to move it around
I also spray some Colour Spray - Mocha on the background for more depth
I decided I wanted to use the Graffiti Grunge Collection - Linked in Die but I didn't want to use another paper so I cut out the middle of the paper I was using and ran it through my Die Cutting machine twice as the paper is quite thick

Colour Blast also have small stencils that aren't on the website (contact them they usually have them at craft shows) I used 3D gel with the grass looking one on the stencil 3 times
I know Colour Blast know longer have the Colour Shimmer Cubes (you can still find them at some online stores) but the colours are perfect for what I needed
The resin owl was from a kit I bought from Art and Soul Studio (it was one of their monthly kits and because it had an owl I had to have it)
I started of by spraying him with Mocha Colour Spray then added Leather, Sienna and Bling Shimmer cubes to him
His beak I added some Snow White and his eyes are done with Dusty Charcoal
I used a white sharpie to add the whites to his eyes
The frame and tags are from the Limited Edition Collection - Glorious I just layered them and added the Linked in Die that I cut up and added some Rust too

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon x

Today for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone

This was a fun little project for the Memory Maze Blog with colour but also my favourite rust and owls

Make sure you visit our Facebook page so you don't miss out on anything new

I started of with the Door Wire Stencil and some crackle paste on a mini canvas I set it aside to dry on it's own as it has ha better crackle when you do this

Once the background was dry I used some Colour Blast Colour Artist Ink in Citrus, Slipper and Spice
Dripping the colours down the canvas and adding a little water to spread the colour over the whole canvas

Then with the 2 piece vintage oval frame I painted it with some brown acrylic paint then some Rusty Paper Paint dabbing it randomly then I added some Frank Garcia Memory Hardware Artisan Powder in Trianon Patina in random spots

I cut 2 of the outer Hearts a pair so they sat in each other then used the Artist Inks again to paint them

I painted the flowers behind the owl with the citrus as it needed some more brightness behind the owl
The owl I used Frank Garcia Memory Hardware Artisan Powder in Umber, Clay and Black and mixed in a bit of Colour Blast Colour Spray Mocha and the leaves I used the Grass Artist Ink

From the Globes set I took the little vintage timer out and painted it with Artisan Powders and then a bit of the Mocha Colour Spray and a bit of Cobalt Shimmer Dust mixed with a fair bit of water

I added a few white flowers because you can never have enough flowers LOL

Enjoy the Journey for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone my turn on the Memory Maze blog today
Make sure you check out the Memory Maze Store and check out what's new this week and see the blog for what the team have been up too
We also have an Instagram account so make sure if your in Insta you go add us memorymazelaser

and I'm slowly working my way through my daughter's wedding photos
There's no hurry as they don't want an album so I'm doing what I want with the photos that I love the most

The girls did their own hair and make up which turned out beautiful

This is what the Heart with Wire Insert looks like except with all the hexagons in it

I sat and glued all the hexagons onto a piece of cardstock with the outer edge but not the full frame

Once everything was glued down and dry I added Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso over the whole thing - I did a couple of coats to make sure I got into all the grooves

Then as you can see above I used the Colour Blast Colour Spray LOVE painting into the grooves as steadily as possible but as you can see that didn't quite happen I went over the edges a bit but it added to it I think

Then I used some Journaling Cards from the Prima range Midnight Garden (it's so pretty) and a couple of flowers from the Ephemera pack

On the Words Fancy - Smile and the Enjoy the Moment I rubbed some Finnabair Metallique Wax in the Brushed Iron to add a contrast colour

Then on the Prima Junk Yard Findings Globe I painted the back with some Finnabair Mettalique Acrylic Paint in Red Wine which suited the flowers in her hair and is a very similar colour to the Bridesmaids skirts
Then I randomly placed different sized white flowers around the project

Thank you for visiting I hope you come back soon x

Daydream for Art and Soul Studio

Hey Everyone

Here's my latest page I created for Art and Soul Studio Blog
I just LOVE owls (if you were to scroll through my blog you would be able to tell LOL)
The papers I used are so pretty and were so perfect for this picture I had to create something with them

I started by tearing the papers and then rolling the edge a little
I then flicked the Colour Blast Carribean Colour Spray over all of the papers

I also used the Carribean blue for the flowers and the paper clay

I used a couple of metal piece but first I painted them in the Jade Impasto for another pop of colour

I had a packet of Prima tulle's that have been sitting looking pretty so I decided to use the pink one finally under the photo

I didn't do a lot to this layout as the paper and the photo didn't need it they are enough on their own
With the photo I had printed it twice in two different sizes so I cut them out in the shape they drawn in
I don't know who drew Him but whoever did thank you because I love Him x

Art and Soul Products I used
Jade Impasto (out of stock)
Snow White Impasto (out of stock)
Lemon Craft Daydream 02 (out of stock)
Cocoa Vanilla Flowers from my stash
Paper Clay from Mum
Metal from own stash
Pink mesh from Prima but I've had it for awhile

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x

Imagine for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

My turn on the Colour Blast Blog - make sure you check out the rest of the blog for lots of inspiration and check out the Colour Blast Kit Club - Check what kit would suit you
It's so convenient everything you need all in one box

I found this picture of John Lennon with the words to the song Imagine
It's such a powerful song which we all need to read and do

I primed the canvas with the Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso

I used four different Colour Pastes - Apple of my Eye, Fire Engine, Sunshine and Tangerine Dream

I used the four different Colour Pastes through the Memory Maze Pavement Stencil scraping each colour letting them overlap here and there
I liked the look of it as it was similar to the photo of John Lennon

Here I'm rubbing some Dorland's Wax Medium over the paste - 1 it helps the paste from sticking to other thing and two it helps make the effect below (I'm sure there are lots more things I can use it for but we'll get to those)

Once I've heated where the wax is it bubbles all over and gives the pattern a really cool look

I sprayed a paper clay border with Colour Spray Carribean for a different pop of colour

I used Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk sticker quote that I thought appropriate

Here I used a Kaisercraft flower, a metal clock face from my stash and a Memory Maze Acrylic Deer Head

I used a Tim Holtz Transparency Globe an old Making Memories ribbon slide and a paper clay man from mum

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x
