Grateful Heart for Colour Blast

Happy New Year Everyone

I hope you're having a fun but safe New Years Eve

On today's BLOG for Colour Blast I created a canvas with lots of paper clay pieces stuck on

I started off by painting the canvas with Heavy White Gesso

Then used some Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere all the paper clay pieces on (like a jigsaw)
I then filled in some gaps with Art Stones and finished it off with another coat of Heavy White Gesso

Then I decided to make it colourful and I used the Colour Shimmer Dusts in - Paris, Peacock, Amber, Sunflower, Duke and Candy
Flicking a little bit of dust before spraying water with each colour (trying not to make mud by getting the colours too mixed up)

Then I felt it needed some more shimmer so I mixed the Dorlands Wax with the Colour Embossing Powder -  Bling and used a  spatula knife to spread it around the canvas and into the little gaps
I covered the heart all over as that's what stands out the most and I based my quote on

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a very happy 2019 xx

Magic for Helmar

Hey Everyone

This week on the Helmar Blog I've made a grunge/steampunk type frame for a friend who loves that style and loved this quote
Make sure you check out the blog for lots of inspiration from the rest of the Design Team

With the whole frame and embellishments I used the Helmar Premium Craft Glue as I have limited supplies at the moment where I am and I find this glue sticks everything from paper to metal

So I started with an old timber frame and painted it with some Art Alchemy Impasto in Dark Chocolate with some sand mixed in then I randomly put some Finnabair Red Rust Paste over the frame
I also did the same with the Memory Maze Chipboard pieces I used

I used an acrylic Unicorn Head from Memory Maze with some white paper flowers

I used a few pieces of paper clay which I covered with Art Alchemy Vintage Gold Wax with a stipple brush which gives a great coverage and gets into all the the little hard to reach places

On the background of the frame I used Memory Maze Lots of Squares Stencil
I then used the Colour Blast Artist Inks in Calypso and Rust

Then I added some Memory Maze Chipboard Chicken Wire

I used a few bits of metal and a little jar of Magic with a few glass cabochons which I placed randomly after I added some Vintage Gold Wax to the back of them

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will be back soon x

Christmas Star for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone

Merry Christmas I hope you get everything you dream of from Santa and share the love with everyone

Today on the Memory Maze Blog I'm sharing a Christmas project of a special little girl who I did the same sort of photo last year so this year instead of round we have gone for a star

With the lid of the tin I used Finnabair's Poppy Red Impasto so I didn't need to prime it
I used a sponge with the paint and it gave a nice stippled affect
I also did the same with the back
Once it was dry I added some Art Alchemy Wax in Old Silver around the edge of the lid and all of the chipboard embellishments

Here is a close up of the Silver Acrylic Deer Head it has sparkle through the acrylic it's so pretty and my little friend in the photo has a deer on her top

I needed something to flow up the side and the Lush Flourish was perfect
I also added a transparent heart, a flat pearl bead onto a metal piece
Underneath you can see a star from Charms Creations it's so pretty it has glitter in the material

The Wings I added to a paper clay clock that mum did for me
along with a few other paper clay pieces that are scattered around the star
I also used some small white flowers and some art pebbles which got covered with the Art Alchemy Wax as well

I love these Bling Tutu Flowers they are so pretty and the red worked perfect for this project
they also come in a few other colours so make sure to check out the site and get your local store to get them in

Here you can see I cut the Double Heart Vintage Frame in half and used it in two places

Here I used the LOVE from the So Rad Authentic Words set of words it just fit so nice

Challenge Project for Art and Soul Studio

Hey Everyone

I hope you all have a Merry and Safe Christmas and that you have all been good and Santa brings you all you wish for

Today on the Art and Soul Studio Blog I created a beach inspired canvas as it went with my photo and it also went with our challenge photo

The Challenge was to use the words Love Life and the pictures were there for inspiration
Make sure to enter as $50 is available for each category Cards, Layouts, and Mixed Media

So I  started off with reversing my canvas and giving it a coat of clear gesso
I then mixed in some sand and spread it around where it was needed
I found a great branch from the garden that fit just right and stuck it down with Heavy Body Gel

I then chose some embellishments and made them rusty using the Dark Chocolate Impasto and the Red Rust Past

With the frame I used the clear gesso before adding the Art Alchemy Old Silver wax with a stipple brush to make sure it went into all the grooves and corners

Here you can see the frame with the Old Silver was on it and the Love Life words - which is what these people look like they are doing

On the backround of the canvas I used Colour Blast Artist Ink Calypso with some water and let it run down the back making sure to get lighter and darker parts like you would see in the ocean

I also added some mesh to the cardboard I used to raise the photo up

Here's some of the embellishments I painted with the rust and a few other bits I also gave then a light brush with white gesso

Unfortunately the vellum globe I used went funny after I glued it with the gel
And under that you can see where I used some Colour Blast Artist Ink Rust to make it look like some of the embellishments had rusted because of the ocean

I added a dragonfly because you often see them near water
I added a couple of shells and you can see some of the clear beads scattered around the canvas

Sewing Box for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone

This project is for the Memory Maze Blog where you can find so much inspiration and see so many of the other products that they make because each Design Team member get different things to use

Here's a fun tin I made for a sewer using the Make Your Own Steam Punk Set I love this set it has so much in it
I was going to grunge it but then I thought I'd use may favourite colours instead - red, orange, pink and yellow they make everything happy and bright

I've made a YouTube video of the process

I had this tin that someone gave me I think it was from last Christmas cookies and I thought it was a perfect size for all your sewing bits and bobs I have about 3 small containers so this should work fine

I started off by painting the everything with black gesso including all the embellishments
Then use Art Extravagance Texture Paste Graphite with the Mandala Doily Stencil randomly over the tin
Once that dried I then glued some old pattern making paper down with Art Basics Clear Gesso

Then I glued each piece down with the Helmar Premium Craft Glue
I added some pieces of muslin for some more texture then painted that with the black gesso as well

When everything was dry I used Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dust - Lollipop, Amber, Sunflower and Candy with a brush flicking the powder randomly over the tin then I sprayed water over it
It gave a beautiful shimmer but once they dried it just left a shimmer and not much colour because of the black gesso (they work much better on lighter colours) so I got out the Colour Shimmer Cubes -Tangerine Dream, Sunflower, Fire Engine, Blush, Lipstick and then some Bling for some added shimmer(which are no longer available from Colour Blast but I do know there are still a few online stores that have them)
They mixed great with Colour Simmer Dusts and added extra colour over the tin

Memory Maze products I used

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon x
