Flower Nymph for Helmar

Hey Everyone

This time on the Helmar Blog I created a cage filled with flowers and a Nymph hiding in amongst all the of them

Make sure to visit the Helmar Website to find out your closest stockist
And remember to check the Helmar Blog for more inspiration from the other Design team members

I've had this Prima Bird Cage for ever a friend and I were going to do them together but then she opened a gift shop and hasn't crafted since so I thought it's about time I used it

Mum and I went shopping in a big cheap craft store and they sold lots of flowers and materials wool etc so we bought lots of flowers and some of this mesh
Mum got some bit and pieces
I used the Fabric Glue adhere the glitter mesh to the back of the cage

I stuck a few layers of cardboard using the Premium Craft Glue (it's my go to at the moment) together so there was height and the Nymph would stand out amongst the flowers

I painted the paper clay Nymph with Finnabair Acrylic Paint Sparks and stuck it to the back of the cage and material with the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive

I used a lot of different sized gems which I scattered around the whole cage as well as used them in the Nymphs eyes so I used the Gemstone Glue to adhere them over the flowers and on the bottom of the cage

With the Nymph it has detail that stands out so I used Finnabair Art Alchemy Opal Magic Vintage Silk Wax
It's such a pretty colour and not too bright just enough to make the details pop

I used Finnabair Art Alchemy Opal Magic Vintage Silk Wax on the Heart as well and added a large flower to go with it

Roses for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

So for my creation this week for the Colour Blast blog I decided to try something out on a hoop I made my own gritty texture paste and I wanted it to be rusty

I made a mix of decorative stones which are tiny stones, texture powder and impasto making sure it was mixed completelyI then went around the side and one edge of the outer hoop as the inside hoop would be covered by the calico

I then used Colour Artist Ink Rust and Colour Shimmer Spray Leather mixing them as I went to try and get the colour I was after but it didn't turn out how I wanted

So I made a mix of of Colour Mica Powder Espresso and some Gem Stone Glue from Helmar so the shimmer would stay instead of using clear gesso which takes the shimmer away

Then I used some of my large collection of the timber from the backs of the canvases (I collect them all they come in handy for all sorts of things) and arranged them into this pattern which isn't really anything

I then used Colour Paste Blush with a Rose stencil on the timber pieces (I wasn't sure how it would work but I like it)

I love when you use the colour pastes how the colours change when they dry

I then added a sprig of flowers that has some birds on it as well

Then I added some metal embellishments for a contrast colour and a different texture

Can't go past some Bling from Memory Maze

And these gorgeous Mermaid Balls that my mum gave me I have so many different colours in them they are so pretty

This is a side view of the hoop so you can see the texture

And another so you can see the shimmer of the Colour Mica Powder

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon x

Black and Gold Tin For Helmar

Hey Everyone

Every year Aldi have Dutch week and every year I get a tin of Speculaas (Dutch spiced biscuits) they are so yum
And so I have a tin to use (this is last years tin we haven't finished this years biscuits)

This project is for Helmar
Make sure you check out the Blog and see what the Design Team have been creating over the month and get some great inspiration from them

I created a YouTube Video of the process it's only a short video so make sure you pop over and watch it and give me a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel I'd really appreciate it xx

I started off by painting the tin with black gesso making sure to cover all the sides and the top
Once it was dry I then used the Memory Maze Door Wire Stencil with some Impasto through it when that dried I painted over it with black gesso

I sprayed the tin with the Helmar Crystal Kote Gloss Varnish so it is nice and shiny (always make sure to use the sprays outside as they have a very strong smell)

I started by sticking the flower doily down with some Helmar Fabric Glue then stuck the metal down with the Craft Glue

I used some Vicki Boutin Word Stickers and also a butterfly and a strip of hearts from the same pack I the Craft Glue to stick all the stickers down to make sure they don't come up

The flowers are from a Prima Pack that a friend gave me and they are perfect for this project

I love metal and have a great stash so I will always find an excuse to use some and the Craft Glue is great for gluing the metal down
I also used it to stick the flowers, the paper clay and the little glass jar
The glitter in the jar I glued in with the Helmar Gemstone Glue which I also used on the leaf to glue the glitter around the edge

So here you can see the different glues I used
And here's a link to the Helmar Website where you can find all the different products they sell
They have a huge range and I'm sure you can find a different product for just about anything you may need

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will be back soon xx
