Happy for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

I love shaped canvases they are so much fun so for this post for Colour Blast Blog I used a round one

Don't forget about out checking out the the Kit Club all the details are on the Colour Blast Website

This is Jack my son he's going places he has a head for business and that's what he's doing at Uni for the next five years
He'll do any work that's thrown his way at his job
And the only other thing he loves more than his family is the gym LOL

I started with some Colour Blast Colour Paste Steel painting it with a paint brush

I then dripped some Colour Artist Ink in Rust (my favourite colour)

I then used some Colour Shimmer Dust Duke which I also painted on
I then ended up painting the Colour Artist ink Rust and the Colour Shimmer Dust Duke thicker and then spreading the Colour Paste Steel with a palette knife
I love how you can still see the canvas detail

So here's how the canvas looks after playing around for awhile trying to get things straight LOL not a great strength of mine
I used Flutterbydesign Stickers to add some sayings that suit Jack

I added a few Finnabair Mechanicals for some contrast
In the Centre of the bottle cap I added a Melange Art Pebble which I had painted with Colour Shimmer Dust Duke mixed with 3D Matte Gel
I also used a heart from Charms Creations they have some many gorgeous shapes in so many colours
I then added Art Stones randomly to finish off the canvas

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x

Dream Big for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

This week for the Colour Blast Blog
Don't forget to check out the rest of the blog for some Design Team inspiration and ideas
I decided to use a photo of my son posing when he was trying on his suit for his sisters wedding and just as I was taking the photo he turned his head to pose LOL

I started off with some crackle paste with a diamond stencil
Once it was dry I wanted to used a few different blues one the canvas

I dripped the Colour Artist Ink Calypso in a few spots then sprayed a little water to help it spread a bit further

I then added a bit of Colour Artist Ink Soot to darken it up a bit but then it was too dark so I watered it down a lot and it made it go a darker blue

Then I added some Colour Shimmer Dust Duke and sprayed the water and everything around it - made me remember to cover and move a few bits that I didn't want blue lol

You can see I added water to the Colour Shimmer Dust Cobalt so it would spread over the canvas

Putting the Colour Shimmer Dust Navy on then I sprayed it a little and turned the canvas in a few directions

Here are two different close ups of the colours you can see the colours

I added some metal embellishments and a few inspirational words to finish it off and that's it

Something Beautiful for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone

I love using quotes they are so inspirational and this is one that we all should use instead of always having negative things to say about people try find the good
This project for Colour Blast I also created a Youtube video for so make sure you check it out and subscribe to both my channel and the Colour Blast channel
Make sure you visit the BLOG and see what the other Design Team members have been creating for inspiration

I used the Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Spray in Leather,
Colour Shimmer Dust in Sunflower (which I made into a spray)  and the Colour Artist Inks in Spice and Grass

I used the Colour Shimmer Dust in Sunflower and the Colour Artist Inks in Spice and Grass on the background adding water to the inks to water them down a little

I then used the Colour Artist Inks in Spice and Grass on the paper clay leaves and flowers painting the colours on with a brush ( I have grass and spice coloured fingers)

I brushed on the Colour Shimmer Spray in Leather on the edges of the stencilled pattern

I used Colour Shimmer Dust Sunflower mixed with water on the paper clay key hole and key for a pop of colour

I used Prima flowers, Memory Maze Chipoard and a Flutterby Design Flair Button
I also added some micro beads for added texture and interest

These are the Colour Blast Products I used on my project which you can find HERE

Paint for Helmar

Hey Everyone

I'm here on the Helmar blog to share a project I created using their glues and you will see I use quite a few different ones each for a different reason

I used a piece of cardboard to create this project I didn't have a canvas that suited what I wanted and I have large stash of cardboard cut off's just incase (I also use it to raise my photos and other things up on my projects)

So I started off by scrapping a layer of white gesso across the cardboard which gave a great texture because of the grooves in the board

I used some Prima Marketing Inc Metallic Accents Pastels watercolour paints to drip down the board
I also painted the brush stencil to make it look like thats what painted the board and the word PAINT

Whenever I glue a photo to anything I always use the Acid Free Glue so I know the photo is always going to be safe
Then to stick the boards together I used the Super-Tac Glue I know this will hold them together well

Here I had used a stencil of a jar with some modelling paste and painted a mix of the colours I'd used and a bit of grey to make it look like paint water
I wanted the jar to look like glass so I used the Premium Craft Glue as it dries clear and gave it the look I wanted

I used the Tacky Craft Glue or the Super-Tac Glue to add to my micro beads and Art Stones I like these as they are flexible glues and they dry clear and don't take away the colour from the micro beads like some of the other glues do

Liquid Scrap Dots is awesome for adding dimension to thin things  like these letters that need height  either side as the middle has been stuck to the arrow but the top and bottom of the letters need be stuck down too and because they are narrow it makes it hard to use anything else

Here I added a few little embellishments including a small brush, a jar that I added some bronze spray too and a Flutteryby Designs Flair Button too

The word stickers are from one of Tim Holtz's sticker books and the hearts are from a Kaisercraft sticker sheet I have had for awhile

The chipboard thistle flowers are from Memory Maze and I stamped them with a tiny dot stamp which I also used randomly stamped around various places

The arrow under the word Paint is also from Memory Maze and is part of the Boho Deer Skull with Feathers Set

Here are all the glues I used and you can find them at most of your local stores or on the Helmar site

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon xx
