Awesome Quote...

I saw this picture and quote online and had to use it
It speaks to me in so many ways

I had fun creating this frame I love all the textures and colours - using the Finnabair Art Alchemy paint, rust paste and waxes, the Frank Garcia Artisan powders on the paper clay, some Scrap FX Chipboard heart, lots of embellishments and flowers and a cheap frame from Big W

Sing for Mixed Media Supplies

Hi everyone

I created a layout using a few of our products - Mica Powders and Rubber Stamps which you will find on our WEBSITE

Make sure you check out our Facebook Page and our Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team are up too

I started off using some gesso on the background cardstock then I used the Saphire Mica powder mixed with watered down mod podge and dripped it down the page to make sure it went through the stenciled pattern

Then I mixed some Pearl Mica Powder with the same mix of water and mod podge and spread it on my mat so I could stamp into it

With my flowers I stamped using the Diamond Fence and the Crackle background stamp to give an extra dimension to them
I also painted them with some of the Pearl Mica Powder mix I made

Here's my layout

I used some graphite paste through a diamond stencil for a bit more shimmer

Then used a few embellishments - from metal, flowers, sequins and beads to add dimension and texture

Thanks for visiting I hope you will be back soon xx

BIG BROTHER

Hey Everyone

Kraft Plus have a great challenge this month - THINK BIG
So you can use anything BIG - photos, embellishments, titles it's endless

I created a layout of my friends Great Danes - Vincent (the BIG One) and Roland the new baby
who are now brothers

I started by spreading some black gesso across the Kraft cardstock with a palette knife then used a moroccan patterned stencil with modelling paste - while that was wet I added some Bavarian Blue embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang and Candied Apple oxide ink pad from Ranger
I love how versatile these ink pads are you can use them as a stamp pad, sprinkled with water to make a water colour or as a paint like I have done here

I love these saying stickers from Tim Holtz there's always a saying that's approriate

I used a few different types of embellishments to add to the layers

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will be back soon xx

Be You

Hey Everyone

I decided to enter the Lindy's Stamp Gang November Challenge where you had to use at least 2 out of the 5 colours in the pallete

I used the Printers Tray from Memory Maze Designs I decided to use only one photo and this was perfect as it has the sepia tone to it

I started by adding some crackle paste over the tray in random spots, then stencilled a hounds tooth pattern on the background with modelling paste

I then painted the colours randomly then spraying water and drying in between each layer

I love how the sepia went into the cracks to give it depth

I used a few background stamps on the tray to add another dimension

I dipped some flowers and the muslin in a watered down mix of the colours

A sprinkle of micro beads here and there for more texture they add a little shimmer as well

Added flowers, metal and a few other embellishments and that's it

Thanks for visiting I hope you will be back soon xx

Hello my darling ...

Hey everyone

White with 1 challenge blog has a fab vibrant challenge this month it's Pineapple Dream

So add this yummy yellow colour with white for the challenge

I did that but my yellow has come up a bit orange in the photos which is rather annoying

I used some yellow spray and soaked all my ribbons, flowers and butterfly in a bowl for a little bit

I used some Colour Blast Snow White colour paste through a stencil that looked like a starburst I love the shimmer it gives

Even though I used the same colour each piece had different shades of the yellow so it gave it more depth

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will visit again soon xxx

paintbrush

Hey there

I've had a few things happening and haven't had a huge amount of time for crafting but managed to create this little project

I used Twinkling H2o's Mandarin Citrine, Orange Peel, and then a bit of contrast with the African Jade and Dutch Iris

I used three mini canvases and painted the with black gesso then used some impasto with a diamond stencil

I found this timber heart with some crackle paste then once it dried I painted the H2o's on

Old paint brushes that you forget to wash and they go hard are always good fun to alter I've done a few now
I added lots of beads and bits to the brush and then painted it all with black gesso
Then painted it with the Twinklings

Well thanks for visiting I hope you will be back soon xx

OWLS

Hi everyone

I love OWLS they are so beautiful, majestic and there are so many different types
This photo I found on the internet and couldn't resist using it
How sweet are they

I put all the different Magicals from some of the sets they have
I use little cups so that if I have some left I can let it dry and then re use what's left next time by adding a touch of water

I gessoed the inside of the canvas and all my embellishment then chose a few colours to use on the outside of the canvas

I used a timber look stencil for the background using some impasto with some milk chocolate brown and dark  chocolate truffle from the Sweet Treats Lindy's Magicals mixed in

The leaves were done in a few different green magicals - bells of ireland green from the Prairie Wildflower Set, curiouser chartreuse from the Mad Hatter Set, shabby turbine teal and rusty lantern from the Industrial Chic Set

I used a couple of Kaiser stamps in random areas across the whole canvas

I used yellow rose of texas, peony scarlet red from the Prairie Wild Flower Set, cape cod coral from the Nantucket Pearls Set and autumn maple crimson and a little of the red hot poker orange  from the Autumn Leaves Set from the on the edge of the canvas and a little of them on the background and on some of the embellishments

The metal owl was painted with some steel shimmer from the Industrial Chic Set

I used crackle paste on the edges of the canvas with a stencil and then just spread some across the canvas
I love how the colours I used vary in the cracks and how much texture and depth it gives

Thanks for visiting I hope you will come back soon xx

Note paper holder for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenges

Hey everyone

We have a new challenge over at Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenges
and this months sponsor is Lindy's Stamp Gang

Make sure you enter to win a great prize

Here's what I came up with I've had this note holder sitting around and well you can't let things sitting around looking boring now can you

So I added lots of embellishments some metal, chipboard and paper clay and painted them in black gesso

Then used a few of my favourite colours -
Steel Shimmer, Cattail Copper, Steampunk Sepia and Milk Chocolate Brown

I sprinkled each colour one at a time and dried each one before adding the next colour

It's now sitting on my desk waiting for a grocery list to happen

Thanks for visiting I hope you come back soon xx
