Wander for Memory Maze

Hey Everyone

This time on the Memory Maze blog I created a layout with a photo my son in law took of my daughter at the beach
I love the way he captured her just wandering along

Make sure to check out the Memory Maze Store because we do custom orders as well

I didn't do a lot to this page as I wanted the photo to stand out

I used the River Pebbles Stencil with sand mixed with 3D Matte Gel
It has great texture and dimension

The Circle Mandala Chipboard I painted with Finnabair Art Alchemy Paint Sparks Unicorn Hair and I brushed a little bit of the paint over the sand for a little shimmer
I used a mould from Prima for the scrolls then used two of the Art Alchemy waxes in the new colours - Old Denim and Blue Lagoon
I feel like they look a bit like waves and the blue adds some extra colour to the neutral colours of the layout

The quote seemed appropriate for the photo and is from one of Tim Holtz's sticker books
I used Platinum glass glitter for a bit of extra bling

Earth Angels for Colour Blast

Hey Everyone
On the blog today I'm sharing a layout I created for a friend of her gorgeous granddaughter and one of her son's (he's also my godson)
He's a massive Great Dane but as you can see he's a gentle giant and loves everyone as the little one has grown up she's pulled his ears sat on him done all sorts of things and he's just taken it all

Make sure to check out the rest of the Colour Blast Blog for great inspiration from the rest of the team and also check out the Facebook pages for the Kit Club and what's happening with that Design Team as well

So I used a page from the Limited Edition- Uniqueness as I like the muted colours in it but it has the slightly darker edges for the pop of colour
I've been playing with moulds a lot lately  and thought I'd try the Colour Paste in it I did the bling in a different mould and it came out perfect so I thought I would try Steel in this one as I like the lace look
So with my palette knife I spread a layer to cover the whole mould and made sure there was no parts left that you could see that had dips in it or see any of the pink under neath - it was hard to get it to not fill in where the lace parts shouldn't be
I let it sit overnight so that way I was sure it was dry but before taking it out I used a cutting knife very carefully to take off any pieces that I could see that shouldn't be on there - like in the holes of the lace of course you can't get it perfect but I think it came out pretty good (this mould is used for cake decorating and they have the fondant that sets hard and comes out perfect)
After attaching all my paper pieces where I wanted them I glued the Colour Paste Lace down with Helmar 450 quick dry Adhesive and then added some Mermaid Beads to it for an added dimension
Here you can see some of the different pieces of paper I cut out of the Spread Your Wings - Wing it paper and the Spread Your Wings Elegant Tags

These green Prima flowers were the perfect colour to go with this paper range and I always need flowers

Birds of a Feather for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge

Hey Everyone

This month on Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog our sponsor is WOW

Make sure you check out their site and see the great range of products they have including a huge range of embossing powders
I happen to have one of their moulds that's what I used
Also don't forget to check out the Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog to see all the creative work the Design Team have made and enter to win

With the Feathers Mould I used paper clay
It's such a light medium to use and is great on a canvas
I love how detailed the feathers come out

I decided to add a chipboard house to the top of the canvas like a bird house for the paper clay birds that mum gave me

I used a stencil of lanterns but I thought they looked like bird feeders

Once I glued everything down with some Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive Glue (it's great because it really does dry quick and it's very strong)

I then used some Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dusts in Sunflower, Candy, Lollipop and Amber
Adding a little bit of one coloured powder at a time
Sprinkling it with the tip of a small brush then spraying water and drying each colour before adding the next colour

I used some Colour Mica Powder Cool Mint  mixed with some Dorland's Wax Medium over the top of all the raised edges
And by heating it, it went into the grooves as well so it made the feathers details stand out more

Making sure to get colour in the grooves of the feathers as well
I added a few white flowers because if you've seen my work and know me you know there has to be some flowers somewhere LOL

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x
